THE BASIL FAMILY DEALERSHIPS ANNOUNCES 12th ANNUAL OPERATION SANTA CLAUS
For the 2015 holiday season, The Basil Family of
Dealerships is partnering with The Marine Corps, WNY Holiday Partnership, and
WKBW Channel 7 to collect and distribute toys for children in the WNY community
who might otherwise not receive anything for Christmas. Since 2004, Basil’s Operation Santa Claus has
contributed over 50,000 toys to Toys for Tots.
From November 27th (Black Friday) through
Wednesday, December 16th participants can enter to win a brand new
vehicle just for stopping by one of Basil’s eleven locations, including the
newest Basil Ford of Niagara Falls. It
is encouraged that each person brings a new, unwrapped toy when entering to win
the $21,000 towards a new or used vehicle from the Basil Family of Dealerships.
Operation Santa Claus this year will also include a
full day Toy Drive on December 16th at area toy stores including
Toys R Us locations, Vidler’s 5&10 in East Aurora, and Clayton’s Toys
locations. As always, people can drop off toys and enter during the entire
length of the promotion at any Basil Dealership as well.
“We’re thrilled to take this year’s promotion to new
levels,” explained Mike Basil, of Basil Toyota, “We want every home this season
to be filled with joy and happiness and we’re committed to doing what we can to
help as many families as possible.”
The winner will be determined live on the air on
WKBW-TV on Friday, December 18th at Basil Volkswagen, located on
South Transit road in Lockport. Ten
finalists will randomly choose key fobs; one of which will start a
predetermined vehicle’s alarm. Whoever has the winning key wins the $21,000 in
Basil Bucks towards a new or used vehicle.

This holiday season, The Basil Family Dealerships, WKBW,
Entercom, The WNY Holiday Partnership, The Marine Corps and Time Warner cable
are teaming up once again to provide toys for children in the WNY Community who
might otherwise not receive anything for Christmas. Operation Santa Claus has
contributed over 50,000 toys to Toys for Tots since its inception in 2004.
Operation Santa Claus this year will include 4 full
day toy drives at area toy stores. Basil
will be collecting toys and allowing people to enter to win vehicles on
November 17th at Clayton’s Toys, December 5th at all area
Toys R Us locations, December 9th at Vidlers, and December 14th
at the Tree House. As always, people can
drop off toys and enter during the entire length of the promotion at any Basil
Dealership as well.

WKBW-TV on Thursday, December 18th at Basil Resale Delaware. Ten finalists will be given keys, one of
which will start a vehicle. Whoever has the winning key can pick one of five
vehicles or $21,000 in Basil Bucks toward the purchase of a pre-owned vehicle
of their choice.

Over 5,000 Western New Yorkers donated toys and entered to win their choice of a new 2012 Ford Fiesta, 2012 Chevy Cruze, 2012 Chevy Sonic, 2012 Toyota Corolla or $17,000 in Basil Bucks toward the purchase of any pre-owned vehicle from the Basil Resale Centers. Donations and entry forms were accepted at all eight Basil locations: Basil Toyota in Lockport, Basil Resale Sheridan & Basil Resale Transit in Williamsville, Joe Basil Chevrolet in Depew, Robert Basil Chevy Buick Cadillac in Fredonia, Basil Ford in Cheektowaga and Basil Resale South & Basil Resale Delaware in Buffalo.
On Wednesday, December 21st, live on WKBW-TV's AM Buffalo, six finalists
selected keys, hoping they chose the one that would start the contest vehicle. One by one, they got into the vehicle parked in Basil Toyota's brand new showroom. The fourth contestant, Ken Tys from Depew, turned his key and was the lucky winner! Luck is no stranger to the Tys Family. Back in 2005, Ken's mother, Irene Tys, was the Operation Santa Claus car winner.
